Austin City Council Member Greg Casar’s Comrades Marched in Austin to Celebrate Communist Holiday

Communists took to the streets of downtown Austin May 1st 2021 in celebration of May Day, demonstrating their disdain for the USA, the working middle class, and capitalism. 15 of Greg Casar’s finest national Democratic Socialists of America – Austin Chapter took to the streets with red communist flags and posters of such contemptible despots as Mao Tse Tung and Joseph Stalin in commemoration of May Day, a nefarious and un-American tradition. May Day originated as an ancient pagan celebration of Spring, known as “beltane.” It took on a different meaning in the 19th century when it became connected to the labor rights movement. While American workers would one day benefit from capitalism in ways that would have been unimaginable to the 19th-century labor rights movement, the ideology of the May Day organizers would go on to kill tens of millions of people and ask millions more to work a lot more than eight hours a day in the Siberian Gulag.

May Day is an emergency procedure word used internationally as a distress signal in voice procedure radio communications used to signal a life-threatening emergency primarily by aviators and mariners. In other countries, local organizations such as firefighters, police forces, and transportation organizations also used the term. Is marching downtown carrying the banners of mass murderers and foreign gulags a new Austin weekend pastime in the making? We shall see what unfolds.
Many on Twitter could not help laughing at Greg Casar’s followers marching on a Saturday afternoon championing the success of Communism in the filthy tent and trash-infested streets of Austin.
